Volunteer

Volunteers play a very important role in helping us to provide a quality education for all students. Moms, dads, and grandparents are certainly welcome. Volunteers may be asked to prepare classroom materials, read with students, prepare bulletin boards, photocopy materials, serve hot lunches, help in the library, accompany students on field trips etc.

All volunteers are required to complete our volunteer orientation.  This is offered several times throughout the year.  Watch our weekly newsletter for dates.  A current criminal record check is required.  See the office for a letter to have the fee waived.

Please note according to our records, you must go to the RCMP detachment that supports where you live.

When volunteering, please remember to sign in at the office.

RVS & Langdon School Procedure

Security Protocols

To add another layer of due diligence in the effort to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff in the Division, all volunteers must complete Criminal Record Check. Vulnerable Sector Check will be required of those volunteers that would like to coach or volunteer in a one to one environment with students.

Visitors and presenters do not require a Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Check as they must be appropriately supervised by staff at all times.

As far as we are concerned, Volunteers are #1!

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
