Parent Volunteer Information

Volunteers play a very important role in helping us to provide a quality education for all students. Moms, dads, and grandparents are certainly welcome. Volunteers may be asked to prepare classroom materials, read with students, prepare bulletin boards, photocopy materials, serve hot lunches, help in the library, accompany students on field trips etc.

For parents who are planning to volunteer at Langdon School, we require a criminal record check.

For those that have CRCheck at the school recorded, you can get your declaration forms for this year at:

Please note according to our records,  the ONLY RCMP detachment you can obtain the criminal record check is Strathmore.

When volunteering, please remember to sign in at the office and pick up a lanyard.

RVS Procedure

COVID PROTOCOLS (Sept 13, 2021)

At this time, visitors, parents, and volunteers are welcomed at Langdon School.
ALL guests to Langdon School must follow the Alberta Daily Health Checklist prior to entering the school.

Volunteers must contact the teacher and school administration to join our team.

Masks are to be worn at all times by volunteers while engaged in a school activity. This includes volunteering in the school, on buses or coaching.

Rocky View School Division will not ask for vaccination status of any student, staff member, or volunteer.

Further Return to school information can be found on the RVS website.

To add another layer of due diligence in the effort to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff in the Division, all volunteers must complete Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks. Visitors and presenters do not require a Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector Check as they must be appropriately supervised by staff at all times.

  1. A volunteer supports a classroom, school, or a system-wide program under the ultimate responsibility and supervision of the principal at the school level.

  2. As per Board Policy GBCD - Mandatory Record Checks, approved April 18, 2013, all volunteers in RVS as part of a classroom, school or system-wide program are required to submit Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks prior to the start of volunteer activities in RVS.

  3. The Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks are valid if completed within one year prior to the date of volunteering.

  4. Volunteers engaged within RVS on an on-going basis must sign a Statutory Declaration form annually, to update Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks information.

  5. Volunteers engaged within RVS on an on-going basis must submit new Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks every 5 year.

As far as we are concerned, Volunteers are #1!
